Information for Graduate Students
Dr. Kliewer primarily works with students in the Developmental Psychology program and occasionally with students in the Clinical Psychology Child-Adolescent Concentration.
Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of research topics in their work with me, including child adjustment problems, substance use, protective processes, stress and coping, physiological correlates of adjustment, neighborhood influences on well-being, and intervention development and implementation.
Following graduation, students who have worked with me have taken jobs teaching and conducting research in universities and colleges, in governmental organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in school systems, in private organizations focused on prevention research, and in private clinical/counseling practice.
